Time for a serious blog overhaul!  I'm searching for a better look so what you see here in the next day or two may change a few times until I find what I like.   Have a great weekend and all of this will be done by Monday.  Promise.

Dot Coms and Blogs

I can't tell you how many times I've logged on here to post and come up with nothing to say.  I still don't have much - other than as of today, my website domain is being forwarded to this blog.  That in itself may be the prompt I need to be a better blogger. 

It's not like I've been idle though...since offering my primitives to the wholesale market..I've had little time for anything else.  I'm definitely NOT complaining about that!

I've gone back and forth with having my own website, but I'm finding that it doesn't need to be much more than what I can provide right here on blogger.  It may take me a bit to get things set up, but in the end this should work out equally as well.  The time I've been spending on the website can now be directed here, with the same potential.

OK, enough drivel....back to work!  Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Rusty Thimble Giveaway

Just Drivel

As they say, time flies when you're having fun.  Haven't had much time to spare lately - but sometimes that can be a good thing - at least I'm busy.  Or appear to be anyway.

Spring has definitely sprung at Cave Creek, though believe it or not I'm working on fall and winter ideas.  It's no wonder I feel lost and confused most of the time!

I received my contributor copy of PRIMS yesterday and it is a lovely issue.  Should be on the newsstands on May 1st.

Happy Holiday..

Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday, no matter what or how you celebrate.

It's a beautiful day here in KY.   I'm finishing up some orders for next week, playing with the cats, enjoying the yard, and having a peaceful (for a change) day.

Later, a walk to the spring to get some of the best drinking water in the world - and then to make dinner for hubs and I.  All in all, a great day.

Life is good.

Walnut Inked Witch

After experimenting with walnut ink crystals, I've decided that they are indeed perfect for primitives.  The color is easily controlled just by adding more or less water.  A little bit of crystal - we're talking maybe a quarter teaspoon - will go a long way.  Another thing I like about it is that the solution will keep for months in a glass jar, without refrigeration.  That means no weird brews in my fridge that might be mistaken for something to drink.  Laugh if you will, but you weren't here last summer when a neighbor drank up my hummingbird food. 

One disadvantage of the walnut ink is that you don't get the lovely aromas that come with the coffee stain, but a dusting of cinnamon and/or nutmeg while the piece is still damp takes care of that. 

I still want to explore making my own walnut stain, but I have to wait for fall to do that.  I'll let you know how that turns out.
